5 Moments Every Cat Owner Experiences

Do you have a kitty? If so, you’ve got a great pet! Cats are clean, lovable, and cute, and can be quite affectionate. Our feline friends also have more than their fair share of adorable quirks. Fluffy’s charming –and sometimes hilarious– antics certainly do make us smile! While every cat is unique, our feline friends do tend to share a few common mannerisms. Below, an Isle of Palms, SC veterinarian lists some moments that cat owners very well may find familiar.

Unexplained Crash

Kitties definitely have a knack for getting into places they aren’t supposed to be, like on top of bookshelves and counters. Sooner or later, Fluffy will knock something over. You’ll probably hear a crash from another room, which may very well be immediately followed by the sight of your feline friend bolting for the safety of her favorite spot under the bed.

Unauthorized Access

As we all know, cats love boxes. Eventually, a day will come when you’re trying to pack or unpack a suitcase or box, and you find your furry friend lending a helping paw … by jumping into the box. Don’t be surprised if physically moving your cat proves unsuccessful: Fluffy might just hop right back in!

Napping Contortionist

Our sleepy feline friends certainly do manage to nap in some very interesting configurations. Many cat owners at some point find themselves staring at a ball of fur, trying to figure out which end is which, or wondering how that position can possibly be comfortable.

Reading Aid

For some reason, cats are apparently quite jealous of our books and computers. Fluffy may sprawl out in the middle of your magazine, or walk across your keyboard. Clearly our feline friends think our time would be better spent petting them!

Melted Hearts

Cats may have a reputation for being aloof, but they are actually pretty forthcoming when it comes to showing affection. Fluffy may curl up on your lap, follow you around like a furry little shadow, or snuggle up beside you on the couch. At some point, you may pet or cuddle your kitty, only to be rewarded with a loud purr and a look of adoration that is completely heart-melting.
